Exhibition at the Archives in Pagosa Springs, Colorado

Collage/Assembalge Centennial 1912-2012

Collage/Assembalge Centennial 1912-2012

The International Museum of Collage, Assemblage and Construction put out the call for an exhibition celebrating the 100 year anniversary of collage and assemblage art. We based this date on the commonly accepted year that the Cubists started making collages and assemblages: 1912. Maybe it was a little sooner than 1912 but who cares? It was about a 100 years before 2012 when we did our exhibition.

To the left is the cover of the catalog planned for the show. Only one draft copy was produced and then we moved the archives to Santa Fe, New Mexico after that and are still getting around to publishing the catalog. We’ll try to get that done ASAP.

In the meantime, below are some highlights of works from the exhibition.
