EMAIL INQUIRIES ABOUT THIS SHOW TO

This is an exhibition where each artist creates a work in their own style and another work that is an homage to a historical artist that has influenced or inspired them. The second work should be based directly on the style of or  even better - a study of a specific work of the artist one is inspired by. The homage might be a Cubist, Surrealist, Dadaist, Constructivist, De Stijl, Abstract Expressionist,
Futurist, Fluxus, Pop, etc. by any one of your favorite artists from the genres of assemblage/construction/collage art.

The pair of works by each artist will be displayed side by side. This exhibition, organized by the International Museum of Collage, Assemblage and Construction (IMCAC), will take place at the Longview Fine Arts Museum in Longview, Texas. A catalog of the works will be
produced for this exhibition. The exhibition will also be kept on permanent display on the collagemuseum.com website with a link to each artist website or contact info if desired.

The works in the show will be donated by the participating artists to the museums. The works will be divided between the IMCAC and the Longview Fine Arts Museum and entered into the two museums' permanent
collections. Should any works not be accepted or de-accessioned by the Longview Museum, such works will revert to the IMCAC collection.

If possible, works on paper should be framed using archival matting and a simple 16x20 inch black, white or natural wood frame. Otherwise works should be created in a ready to hang or display format. This might be collages on paper, mixed media on canvas or panel, photo-montage, digital montage or assemblages, box assemblages, constructions, collections of objects, etc. These can be wall works or free standing sculptural objects to be placed on the floor, a table or a pedestal.

The catalog will be produced by the Longview Fine Arts Museum and at least one free copy sent to each participating artist. An essay on the exhibition will be written by Cecil Touchon, Director of the IMCAC.
