Ten New Collages by
Cecil Touchon
There is as much to listen to in Cecil
Touchon's collages as there is to see. Color, form and space speak
simply,
eloquently, and sensitively to one another in his work. The
effectiveness
of each piece lies in how Touchon coaxes the individual voices of
rhythmic
color, poetic space and expressive geometry to address the viewer in
unison.
Together they sing a subtle evocation. A new visual order emerges from
what seem at first to be simple and elegant abstractions. While form,
color
and space confront each other in Touchon's collages they are never
merged.
They are transcended and exalted, revealing an inner purity and lyric
voice
that heralds the chorus of each of his compositions. Thom
