ABOUT THE COLLAGE MUSEUM

The International Museum of Collage, Assemblage and Construction is currently located in Cuernavacva, Mexico. The Museum is a private museum and is only open by appointment or during special events or openings. The collection is available for traveling exhibitions. There are no set hours but anyone is welcome to call for an appointment or room reservation in the bed and breakfast or stop by to visit for an afternoon and look through the museum's collection of art and documents at Casa del Artista where the museum collection is housed or come for collage workshops presented by the Museum.

The Museum's central venue has been the internet websites which we have and will continue to develop and we expect to maintain this focus because the internet provides an excellent and low cost platform to present the museum's collection and advance its programs which are oriented toward the specific arts community it is intended to serve namely the community of more than 750 collage and assemblage artists which the museum maintains contact with through the listserv COLLAGE.  While it is impossible to be completely inclusive, the Museum staff strives to avoid any attitudes of exclusivity and maintains an open door, open arms and open mind policy.

We will continue to grow and expand and plan for the future to create a special and exciting collection of contemporary collage and assemblage art and to document as much as we are able with the help of the community we aim to serve.

The Museum is an all volunteer venture operating through the efforts of such Post Dogmatists as Dale Copeland,
who coordinating the recent Baker's Dozen collage exchanges, as an example, works tirelessly to create the kind of community that we as artists wish to participate in and be a part of.

We invite you to join in and contribute to the museum through initiating projects which can be archived on the museum's website. Documentory projects especially are welcome.
